FAQ

If you’re looking for the “how do I use this without overthinking it?” version, start with Estimate body fat % from a photo.

Best results come from consistency

The single biggest lever is repeatable photos: similar lighting, distance, camera height, and angles.

How accurate is LeanLens?

LeanLens provides estimates from photos. Accuracy depends heavily on photo quality, consistency, and how well the photo represents your current condition. Use it to track direction over time, not as a clinical measurement.

Is this medical advice?

No. LeanLens outputs are for informational purposes only and are not medical diagnosis or treatment advice. For clinical accuracy, use professional methods such as DEXA or consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Do you store my photos?

LeanLens does not store uploaded photos in our database after processing completes. Photos are used to generate your analysis output.

Do I need an account?

No. You can run an analysis without signing in. If you want to save snapshots and build a progress timeline, you can sign in to enable those features.

Does multi-photo help?

Often, yes. Multiple angles can reduce ambiguity and improve stability of the estimate—especially if a single photo has tricky lighting, posture, or framing.

What photos work best?

Clear, well-lit photos with your full torso visible work best. Try to keep distance, camera height, and angles consistent across check-ins.

Why do you show a range instead of one number?

A range is more honest for photo-based estimates. It helps you avoid overreacting to small differences and encourages trend-based thinking.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. If you created an account, you can delete it in-app or via the /delete-account page. See Privacy for details.

How often should I re-check?

Most people get the best signal checking weekly or every 2 weeks with consistent photos. Daily check-ins create noise and stress for little benefit.

Is LeanLens free?

LeanLens is free to use for basic analysis. Some features may require sign-in (like saving progress) depending on your setup.
