Connect the decision to the trend
Plan and Track Body Recomposition
Use photos, measurements and training context to evaluate changes that the scale alone cannot explain.
Choose a direction first
Cutting, bulking and recomposition are different approaches. Your current context, experience and priorities matter more than a single photo score.
Keep a small, consistent record
Track body-weight trends, a consistent waist measurement, comparable photos and training performance. Stable weight with a smaller waist can be useful context, but does not prove a precise amount of muscle gained or fat lost.
Common questions
Can I recomp without losing weight?
Body weight can stay similar while composition changes. It can also stay similar for other reasons, so assess several consistent trends rather than making a conclusion from the scale alone.
