A higher shoulder-to-waist relationship usually reads as a stronger V silhouette, but frames, measurement methods, goals, and preferences differ. Treat the number as one visual relationship.

Use the same unit for both circumferences. For example, 120 cm shoulders divided by an 80 cm waist equals 1.50. Keep the tape level around the widest shoulder circumference and use a consistent waist location without pulling the tape tight. A photo-width ratio uses different geometry and should not be mixed into this circumference trend.
There is no required ratio. Around 1.6 is a popular aesthetic reference, but it is not a health threshold or universal ideal.
Either can support a trend, but do not mix methods. Circumference and visible width are different measurements.
It commonly refers to a shoulder-to-waist ratio near 1.618. LeanLens presents it only as optional aesthetic context.
Depending on your context, lateral delts, lats, upper-back development, and gradual waist-composition change can influence the visible ratio.
